ITV1’s new glossy medical drama, Harley Street, lost out to BBC One’s On the Fiddle by over one million viewers last night.
The pick of the day, starring Paul Nicholls, Suranne Jones and Kim Medcalf, only pulled in a 17.6% audience share between 9 and 10pm, with an average of 3.8 million viewers.
ITV1’s new series, which is set in London’s medical district and follows the private practice of three GPs, only managed a peak audience of 4.2 million viewers in the first 15 minutes of the show.
BBC One’s two part programme, On the Fiddle, about London’s organised fraud team uncovering benefit fiddlers, attracted a 23% audience share with an average of 5.1 million viewers.
The one-hour real life crime show peaked in the last 15 minutes, pulling in nearly 6 million viewers between 9.45 and 10pm, almost two million more than Harley Street’s peak time.
BBC One topped the viewing figures last night with Eastenders attracting 7.8 million people, followed by Celebrity Masterchef with 5.1 million, on before On the Fiddle between 8 and 9pm.
Elsewhere, Big Brother’s earlier showing at 9pm on Channel 4 got a 13.4% audience share, with an average of 2.9 million viewers.
