The only application received by the ITC for the cable franchise for Southern East Anglia has come from Southern East Anglia Cable Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Cambridge Cable Ltd, which already serves 55,000 cable customers in Cambridge, Harlow, Ipswich and Colchester.
This new area covers 285,000 homes of which 104,778 will be served by the bidder – including Bury St Edmunds, Braintree and Clacton-on-Sea. It has not applied to serve the north-eastern part of the area (Thetford, Diss).
The company’s cash bid was £50,000.
