Online Ads Rise In December

The number of online adverts increased 8% month on month during December even though fewer brands advertised on the internet, according to Lemonad’s latest online advertising barometer figures.
Lemonad claims that online advertising “surged” in the run up to Christmas with the number of adverts reaching 14,196, despite the number of advertisers using the medium declining by 23% month on month during December.
The editorial and e-commerce sectors experienced the greatest increase, both seeing the volume of ads increase by 7% between November and December and the top five sites by number of adverts (see below) attracted 36% more advertising, with the amount of ads increasing from 3,168 in November to 4,296 in December.
