Opus has announced that former Mail on Sunday agency account manager, Karen Eccles, is to replace Nigel Clarkson as group head of sales for Classic FM.
Eccles, who takes up the position on 8 March, will assume responsibility for a team of six handling major agency business across the Classic FM portfolio, which includes radio, digital television and the internet.
She will report directly to Classic FM sales director, Simon Daglish, who said: “We are delighted to have someone of Karen’s calibre joining the Classic FM team, bringing experience from a diversity of press titles.”
Commenting on her appointment, Eccles added: “I’m delighted to be joining Opus on the range of Classic FM brands – it has an unrivalled portfolio of products within a company that is renowned for its creativity and teamwork.”
Eccles has worked for the Mail on Sunday since May 2000. Prior to that she has held roles including group advertising manager of National Magazine Company’s You and Your Wedding Magazine and associate publisher of Creative Review at Centaur.
Earlier this month Opus announced that Phil Parkinson will take over from Dominic Barker as regional director of its Manchester-based division with immediate effect. Parkinson will oversee all revenue streams for the company outside of London and will report directly to national sales director Peter Charlton (see Opus Appoints Parkinson As New Regional Director).
