Opus Takes On Essex And Marcher Groups After Clear Channel

Opus has taken over from Clear Channel Radio Sales in handling airtime sales for the Marcher and Essex Groups as of 1 March. The addition of the Essex Group extends Opus’ reach into the Greater London area. It has also taken on responsibility for East England dance station Vibe FM which had also been represented by Clear Channel.
Opus managing director, Duncan George said, “We’re increasing the reach of our successful Mix stations and adding a completely new element to our sell with Vibe FM.”
The Marcher group is made up of four FM and one AM radio station based in the North West of England and covering Birkenhead, Chester, Wirral and North Wales. The Essex Group covers Essex, Hertfordshire, Surrey, Sussex and Kent and is made up of seven FM and two AM stations.
Opus has recently launched a website, www.opusonline.co.uk aimed at planners, buyers and clients. It allows users to download complete presentations on the 54 Classic Gold, London News Radio and The Mix stations as well as Classic FM and national digital stations Core, Planet Rock and ITN Rolling News. It also features news, events and new initiatives across the Opus portfolio.
