Mobile phone operator Orange has secured a deal with BAFTA and ITV which will see the company sponsoring both the event itself and the ITV broadcast of it. This is Orange’s first venture into broadcast sponsorship, as well as being the first time the awards have been sponsored.
The deal was negotiated by Julian Rigamonti, commercial executive at Laser on behalf of ITV, and Jeremey Krantz at Mediapolis on behalf of Orange.
The event, the 50th anniversary of the BAFTA Awards, will be broadcast on Sunday 19 April at 10:15pm.
