It was a good Monday night for BBC One, with Eastenders pulling in just over eight million adult viewers in the 7.30pm timeslot, giving the channel a more than 43% viewing share at the time.
ITV1’s Emmerdale managed to gain 7.2 million adult viewers at 7pm, a 42% viewing share, whilst Holby City on BBC One gained significantly more viewers than ITV1’s serial drama, The Bill, in the 8pm slot.
The Bill pulled in 3.9 million adult viewers, taking an almost 20% audience share, whilst Holby City was watched by 5.6 million adults, a more than 28% share.
Panorama‘s football “bungs” expose, which has put former England manager candidate Sam Allardyce in hot water, managed to lure 4.9 million adult viewers to BBC One, taking a 24% audience share in the 9pm slot.
Earlier, the Sharon Osbourne Show on ITV1 struggled against other programmes in the afternoon timeslot. It managed 1.1 million adult viewers, compared with 2.8 million for Channel 4’s Deal Or No Deal and BBC Two’s Weakest Link with 1.9 million adult viewers.
