Paul Jackson Set To Leave ITV

ITV Paul Jackson, ITV’s director of entertainment and comedy, is set to leave the role by the end of the year.

Jackson is reportedly going to return to production, while ITV decides whether or not to replace him.

Peter Fincham, ITV’s director of television, said: “Paul is a legend in the entertainment and comedy world. He committed to the role for three years and has commissioned and overseen some of the network’s biggest and best programmes.”

Jackson worked on ITV shows including Britain’s Got Talent, Dancing on Ice, The X Factor and Benidorm.

He said: “We have had a challenging and exciting ride since the new entertainment and comedy team came together and it has been a blast to work with some of the best professionals you will find in UK television.”

He added: “We have built on ITV’s reputation as the home of the stars. I am leaving a great team with a very full slate of hit shows and few new ones to play out in the coming months.”

Jackson, who joined ITV in February 2006, was previously controller of entertainment at the BBC before going to Sydney to work as managing director of Granada Media Australia.
