PC Guide Appoints New Sales Executive
Future Publishing has announced the appointment of Jenny Hollander as senior sales executive of its PC Guide magazine. Hollander has moved backed to the UK from South Africa where she has worked on ad sales for The Sunday Times and Cosmopolitan.
The June issue of PC Guide will feature a covermount of the children’s Living Book disc, Arthur’s Teacher Trouble. This promotion follows research which showed that the magazine has a 17% female readership, of which 65% have children.
Print numbers of this issue, which will be on sale on 29 May, are to be increased by 8,000 copies; most of these will be distributed throughout branches of Sainsbury, Tesco and Safeway.
Publisher Jon Bickley says: “We are delighted to achieve this extra distribution through the supermarkets, and believe that this promotion is just the thing to continue increasing our family readership. Jenny is joining at an exciting time for PC Guide when we expect further ABC growth”.
It is believed that Future Publishing is on the verge of a management buyout, although its owners, Pearson New Entertainment, have not yet made an announcement. The sale of Future has been rumoured for some time (subscribers see Pearson In Future Sell-Off Rumours).
