Future Publishing’s PC Plus magazine is to feature a full version of Microsoft’s Internet Explorer 4.0 on CD ROM on the cover of the November issue (at newsstands 8 October). The software, which can take over an hour to download from the Internet, is featured free with video tutorials.

The December issue also sees £1000’s worth of giveaways. Dbase 5.5 and the image manipulation package Sartori are both available free. The promotional campaign is accompanied by poster site advertising in London and adverts in the national press.

A further success for Future is that their Official Playstation Magazine , launched in November 1995, last month saw their best ever sales figures. The magazine circulated at 190,000 establishing it as the fastest growing consumer magazine in the UK. This despite the fact that it retails at £4.99. Future have announced the appointment of Paul Lanzarotti as business development manager for the Official UK Play Station Magazine. He joins from Emap Images where he was agency sales manager.
