Pearson Television, owners of Thames Television and Grundy Worldwide, have bought SelecTV PLC. This is a separate deal to Carlton’s acquisition of SelecTV’s cable channel as reported on Newsline earlier.
SelecTV is valued at approximately £46 million and each share is worth 29p. It is intended that SelecTV’s assets will be re-organised so that Pearson will only retain SelecTV and its television production and distribution business.
