Pearson is to buy Future Publishing, which publishes 30 consumer and computer magazines, for £52.5m. Future’s portfolio includes PC Plus, Amiga Format, Mountain Biking UK and Classic CD. The legal details between Pearson and Future are being finalised and the deal is expected to be completed by the end of the week.
It is unclear at the moment whether the magazines will remain at Future’s Bath offices or move to Pearson in London. This acquisition is the latest attempt by Pearson to expand its media interests.
