Poster Publicity Poaches Waller For Top Marketing Role

Independent outdoor media company Poster Publicity has poached Clear Channel’s research manager Ciara Waller to become its new marketing services manager.
Waller brings seven years of experience in outdoor advertising to the role, which from today will see her working with high-profile clients such as the BBC, Warner Brothers and Visa.
Commenting on her appointment Poster Publicity said: “In addition to a wealth of experience of marketing, she will also bring invaluable research and analysis to our London based marketing team.”
In other outdoor news, Maiden Outdoor has secured a lucrative contract with Capital Shopping Centres to install 200 6-sheet posters in a range of shopping malls across the UK. The deal, which covers nine shopping centres in Glasgow, Uxbridge and Stoke-on-Trent, means that Maiden now has 6-sheets in 96 malls across the UK allowing it to achieve 41 million impacts every two weeks.
The latest figures from the Advertising Association show that outdoor was the fastest growing sector in the three months to December 2002, with expenditure increasing by 15.5% to £188 million. The medium ended the year on a high, with adspend improving by 1.9%, as advertisers returned to using posters and billboards in force (see Entertainment And Media Brands Drive Outdoor Growth).
A recent study from Concord shows that entertainment and media companies are driving the growth in outdoor advertising and now account for one fifth of the sector’s total revenue (see Entertainment And Media Brands Drive Outdoor Growth).
