Premier Radio Launches Funding Appeal
Premier Radio, the UK’s first Christian Radio station which launched on 10 June, is launching its second direct marketing campaign in a bid to raise more money for the station.
The £7,000 mail-out comes as Premier launches its new autumn programme schedule in response to listener’s demands for a format of more news and talk. The new mailing hopes to encourage supporters to make regular donations to the station and aims to raise up to £500,000. When Premier launched in Jne it had £1.2 million of donations raised through the Church.
Premier Radio has just reported for the first time through RAJAR, for Quarter 3, 1995. It managed an average weekly reach of 210,000 listeners, or 2%, and a 0.4% share of listening. This was better than Viva, the station for women, which managed a reach of just 1% and a 0.2% share of listening.
Peter Meadows, Chief Executive of Premier Radio, said, “We wanted to wait until things had settled down after the launch before appealing for further donations.”
