The decision on who will win the television coverage of football’s Premier League will be decided on June 6th when the contenders will unveil their bids to the League.
The main party which has so far registered an interest in taking the coverage from Sky is a consortium comprising Carlton Communications and the Mirror Group (Newsline 02/04), though United News & Media is also believed to be considering a bid.
A report in today’s Sun said that Sky is likely to bid £1 billion to maintain its coverage rights.
