Press Complaints Commission Doing “A Poor Job”
A survey of MPs into their opinions of the Press Complaints Commission reveals that they are not happy with it. Over 70% of the 200 who replied to questions from the Association of British Newspaper Editors said the PCC was doing “a poor job”.
Around 60% of the MPs questioned said they were not satisfied with the honesty and responsibility of national newspapers; radio fared best as the most reliable and responsible broadcaster.
The government is expected to issue its paper on press privacy laws later this year.
