Research commissioned from Media Audits by The Independent in June, profiles readers of the paper using BARB Additional Panel data. This panel questions all respondents on the paper they read in the last seven days.
Independent readers are said to prefer BBC to ITV and watch more Channel 4 than most broadsheet readers. 64.6% described themselves as “light” ITV viewers
25% of readers did watch ITV’s documentary on Prince Charles in June. Other popular programmes were Cardiac Arrest (BBC1) at 23% and Taggart (ITV) watched by 22% of readers.
