Profits Down At Reed Elsevier
According to half-year results released by Reed Elsevier this morning, profits at the company are down by 3%. The company puts the fall in profits down to ‘less favourable market and competitive conditions’ from its rivals.
Pre-tax profits were down from £413 million at the same time last year to £371 million for this year.
Chairman of Reed Elsevier, Morris Tabaksblat said: “Reed Elsevier is a business with an undoubted potential. But it is not performing as strongly as it should do at a time when it needs to respond quickly to challenges and opportunities in its markets.”
