Profits Drop At News Corporation
Nine month financial figures released today by News Corporation show that profit after abnormal items has dropped from $798m a year ago to $580m. Operating revenues did however rise by 10% to $7.3 bn.
The UK arm of News Corporation, News International, continues its success: operating profits for the quarter are up 8% as each of the four newspaper titles posted gains in both circulation and ad revenues. Particularly strong were the gains made in colour advertising. Both The Sun and The Times maintain their circulation leads over their rivals.
