Profits Reach £3.8m At Chime

Chime Communications today revealed a rise in annual pre-tax profits from £3.723 million to £3.834 million while turnover increased from £33.72m to £42.367.

Sir Tim Bell, chairman of Chime, made reference to the acquisition of HHCL at the end of last year (subscribers see Chime/WPP Join Forces To Buy HHCL) when he commented on the company’s prospects: “We have made a good start to the new year and with the full effect of HHCL coming through 1998 looks like being another successful year.” He also announced that PR firm Lowe Bell would be rebranded as Bell Pottinger after the Lowe group decided to withdraw Chime’s right to use the name.
