…Aspen Communications, the publishing and media group has reported a pre-tax profit of £1.16m for the six months ending June 30. The figure is 10% down on the £1.29m for last year. However, that result was inflated by an exceptional credit of £1.1m.

… International Business Communications, publisher of business titles such as Business Technology, has reported pre-tax profits trebling to £4.94m from £1.37m last year. Chairman Lord Rees Mogg said the company had benefited from “better trading conditions in most of our markets”. However, the publishing side of IBC saw profits drop 6.3% to £1.42m.
