Q3 Commercial Radio Revenue Rises 17.4%

Commercial radio revenue for the third quarter of 1998 has increased by 17.4% year on year, breaking through the £400 million mark to reach £400,134,644.

Commercial revenue for the third quarter of this year showed a growth of 11.5% year on year, checking in at £100 million.

National radio revenue made the biggest increase in year on year figures up by 24.0% to £240,270,435.

The RAB is putting down the growth in radio’s expenditure to increased demand from national advertisers and to new brands using the medium, much like the last quarter results. As well as this, already established advertisers have increased their ad spend. The top spenders this quarter were Coldseal and BT, with COI, Ford and the Carphone Warehouse coming in next.
