QVC, the television home shopping channel which launched in the UK last October, is planning to expand into Europe with local language channels in Germany, France and Italy launching next year. Plans are also underway to launch channels in Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Belgium later this year. These will be English-based with bilingual telephone operators.
William Schereck, president of QVC International, announcing the proposals yesterday, said that the UK channel is currently on course to meet its first year revenue target of £40m.
