RA Advertises Glasgow Digital Radio Licence
The Radio Authority (RA) has announced that it is inviting applications for the digital radio licence in Glasgow and the surrounding area, following the advertisement of similar licences for Manchester, Birmingham and Greater London earlier this year (see Newsline).
The licence is designed to allow coverage of an adult population (aged 15+) of around 1.8 million. The licence will be granted initially for a period of twelve years, and the closing date for applications is 8 June 1999.
The RA is also inviting views from the public on services required from local and digital radio in and around the Glasgow area. The Authority expects to award the licence in the early Autumn.
