Radio 1 Takes On Zoe
BBC Radio 1 has brought in Zoe Ball to co-host its breakfast show slot in a bid to boost disappointing listening figures. Ball, who has previously worked on the Big Breakfast and is currently co-host of Live and Kicking, will be partnering Kevin Greening, the DJ who has stood in on the breakfast show in the past.
Mark Radcliffe and Mark Riley, who took over when Chris Evans left in January, will now be moved to the 2-4pm slot. The latest RAJAR figures, for Quarter 2, showed that Radio 1’s weekly reach had dropped 12% year on year to 9.669 million.
