Radio 4 Puts Programmes Up For Tender

BBC Radio 4 is planning to privatise some of its most established programmes including Gardeners’ Question Time which attracts combined audiences of 1.25 million for the Sunday and Wednesday airings. The programme will be put out to tender to independent producers, as part of a total 150 hours on offer for privatisation. Radio 3 is also planning to take 200 hours a year from independents in an attempt to introduce fresh ideas.
