Radio Authority – Emap Metro Deal

Radio Authority – Emap Metro Deal

As a result of Emap’s successful bid for Metro, it must now sell its Bradford licences, Pulse and Great Yorkshire AM West, to comply with the government ruling which restricts the holding of overlapping licences and the 15% point limit set out in the Broadcasting Act 1990.

Emap has to reduce its share in the Bradford licences to below 20%. The Radio Authority said today that it has yet to decide how long a timescale Emap has to reduce its share. The Radio Authority is to have a meeting next week (2nd August) to set a final date.
