Radio Authority Invites Comments On Scottish Radio Move
The Radio Authority will be conducting a public interest survey into Scottish Radio’s move to acquire the shares in West Sound AM that it does not already own.
Scottish Radio currently broadcasts an AM service in Glasgow (Clyde 2) and has an interest in West Sound AM which provides a service in Ayr. Scottish already owns West Sound FM which also serves Ayr.
Under the Broadcasting Act 1996, a company cannot hold two AM licences in the same area unless the Radio Authority has determined that the ownership will not operate against the public interest.
Subscribers can access the Radio database by selecting “Radio” from the drop-down box at the top of this page.
