  • The RA is re-advertising the local radio licence for Bailiwick of Guernsey, which is currently held by Island FM. The licence will run for eight years from 15 October 2000.
  • The regulator is also re-advertising the local radio licence for the Island of Jersey, currently held by Channel Radio (Channel 103 FM). This licence will run from 25 October 2000, also for a period of eight years.
  • Causeway Coast Radio has been awarded the independent local radio licence on the FM waveband for the town of Coleraine, in County Londonderry (Northern Ireland) by the RA. This service is expected to cover an area with an adult population of around 30,000, and the licence will come into effect as soon as Causeway Coast Radio begins broadcasting.
  • The Authority is re-awarding Channel Travel Radio the long-term restricted service licence to provide a travel information service for road travellers approaching the Channel Tunnel and ports for a further period of eight years, from 1 August 2000.
  • Spire FM has re-applied for a local licence to serve the Salisbury area for a further period of eight years from 5 September 2000.
