Radio Authority Receives Applications For Telford Licence
The Radio Authority (RA) has received applications for the small-scale independent local radio (ILR) licence for Telford from the following groups:
Telford FM (Keith Parker, 01952 242 424): a lively service of local news, information, music and entertainment, dedicated to the specific needs of Telford and the immediate surrounding area.
TF1 (Kathryn Foster, 01952 433 522): the authentic sound of Telford: a lively, music-led station with a focused and alternative service of news, sport, information and entertainment, offering its listeners the opportunity to become an active and integral part of the service.
Wrekin FM (Dave Myatt, 01902 850 380): a predominantly music-based radio service of popular music from the ’60s through to today with a high level of local news, views and features.
The service is expected to cover an area with an adult population of around 115,000. The RA expects to award the licence towards the end of this year.
