Following the purchase of the dance stations Kiss 102 in Manchester and Kiss 105 in Yorkshire, Chrysalis Radio is to rename the stations Galaxy 102 and Galaxy 105 respectively. The stations’ previous owners, Faze FM Radio Ltd, had entered an agreement with EMAP Radio in order to franchise the Kiss brand; Chrysalis, however, believe that the stations will be more successful under their own Galaxy brand. Chrysalis, which is currently the biggest regional radio operator in the country serving 46% of the population, bought the two stations for £17.6m in August this year. They also own Heart 106.2 FM in London and 100.7 Heart FM in the Midlands.

…The Local Radio Company Ltd (TLRC) has acquired 100% of the share capital in Plymouth Sound radio station. The shares were bought equally from Capital Radio and GWR Group. Managing Director of Plymouth Sound, Graham Gilbert, is encouraged by TLRC’s “de-centralised manager style” and “local innovation” which he believes fit with the Plymouth Sound management style. TLRC is a subsidiary of Radio Investments Ltd. and now owns eight radio stations.

…Scottish Radio Holdings has made an offer to acquire the outstanding 59.2% of Moray Firth Radio for 250p a share. This offer values Moray at £563,350.
