Radio Clyde (Glasgow) was the only British winner of the annual radio awards held in Barcelona, the 1995 International Premios Ondas. The winning programme was Clyde 1 FM’s ‘The Eurochart in Paris’ which contained a mixture of serious speech and pop music for young people.
Commenting on the award, Sir Peter Gibbings, chairman of the Radio Authority, said, “We are delighted that a British commercial radio station has again received international recognition. I congratulate Radio Clyde on its innovative programme and for enhancing the reputation of ILR in the UK.”
