Radio Executives Move Online

Two top radio executives at Chrysalis have announced their intention to start up their own internet company. Keith Pringle, group programme director, and Ande MacPherson, content director for Chrysalis Radio Online, plan to set up Ride the Tiger with backing from Chrysalis New Media.

The group placed shares recently to raise an estimated £27 million to invest in new media strategy (see Chrysalis Unveils Web Strategy). It is believed that £4 million will be invested in Ride the Tiger, one of the first projects to be backed by the fund.

Ride the Tiger, due to go live this summer, will be a music and lifestyle portal but specific details are unknown at present. Lisa Gordon, corporate development director at Chrysalis, said: “Ride the Tiger is the first proposal to have passed our rigourous investment hurdles and has enormous potential to be a leading content player on the web.”
