Radio Industry Optimistic For Revenue Forecasts

The Radio Advertising Bureau is predicting a healthy last quarter for 1995 in terms of revenue, forecasting a 15% increase year on year. Whilst television spending is predicted to be down, radio increases throughout the year have averaged over 20%. Forward bookings for 1996 are also looking healthy, with new interest in the medium coming from the sectors of finance and confectionery.

Douglas McArthur, managing director of the RAB commented, “In 1993 and 1994 commercial radio was the fastest growing advertising medium with growth rates well over 20%… 1995 should see us achieving the fastest growing medium title for the third year in a row.”
