Q102.9FM, which has won the licence for Londonderry is to launch on October 21. The station’s advertising sales are being handled by Gary Hill Media.

Virgin is expected to bid for one of the London ILR licences in June following the Radio Authority’s failure to grant a new national FM service.
Metro Radio is also planning to bid for one of the London licences next month. It will offer a soft rock format.

Country 1035, a new London station launching in August, has appointed Gerard Bridges as commercial director. Bridges, former Capital Radio group sales manager, will co-ordinate sales, promotions and sponsorship.
