Radio Revenue Reaches £100m For Q4

Commercial radio reached its highest ever quarter ad revenue in Quarter 4 1997 with a figure of £100m, which is a growth of 15.3% year on year. This means that commercial radio’s quarterly share of the advertising market has broken the 5% barrier for the first time.

This puts the total radio revenue for the full year of 1997 at £354m, up 14.7% year on year. Revenue from national advertisers continues to grow more quickly with growth of 17.5% across the year.

Zenith Media predicts that total radio revenue will increase by 16% to reach £410m for 1998.
