Radio Times Extends Editorial
From September 21, its 70th birthday edition, the Radio Times is to be revamped.
The changes come a month after the magazine lost its top selling spot to Reader’s Digest and IPC’s What’s on TV.
Details of daytime TV will appear on a single page for each day, thus creating seven facing pages for advertisers and seven editorial pages for features. RT believes it is no longer sufficient to have the week’s TV listings; these are available in many other supplements and magazines.
There will be a section listing the week’s programmes by subject, with a weekly spread aimed at children and their parents. The title will be pushing for the “discerning viewer”.
