Rank Organisation had a bad year at the box office according to pre-tax profit figures released yesterday. A fall of over £20m resulted in profits of £230.1m, substantially lower than expected by city analysts.
Earnings per share for the year ending October 30 went down from 38.4p to 37.8p. Dividends remained stable at 31p. The city expected profits of £245m for the leisure group and shares fell from 9p to 695p following yesterday’s announcement.
