An approach made by Premier Media to take over the film and television interests of the Rank Organisation has been rejected. Premier Media is a consortium led by Michael Grade, chief executive of Channel Four Television, and the offer was said to be in the region of £400m.
HESELTINE INTERVENTION IN ITV TAKEOVERS
Trade and Industry Secretary Michael Heseltine will chair a series of seminars next month at which ITV companies will press their conflicting arguments for and against a relaxation of rules on takeovers. His involvement is likely to please the pro-relaxation lobby.
