Real Radio Launches Major TV Ad Campaign

Real Radio has announced it is to launch a £1 million ad campaign to promote its stations in Wales, Yorkshire and Scotland.

The adverts, which will run on HTV, Yorkshire television and on Channel 4 in Scotland, will be customed for each region and will be supported by heavy-weight poster activity. The campaign has been designed by Manchester-based advertising agency Clear Marketing Communications, which were appointed by Real Radio last month (see Real Radio Selects New Ad Agency For TV Push).

Real Radio Group managing director, Shaun Bowron, commented: “Real Radio has quickly established a strong identity in each region and this high profile campaign which attract new listeners by demonstrating that the stations are about fun and entertainment.

In Wales the campaign will run in conjunction with the station’s second birthday on October 3rd and a promotion for the new breakfast show. In Scotland the initial activity will be supported by a new daily competition where listeners will compete for the chance to win £1,000. Yorkshire’s campaign will celebrate the station’s first six months on air, and will feature a series of animated commercials.

Earlier this month Real Radio expanded its sales team in Yorkshire with the appointment of Steve South as sales director and Steve Howarth as agency account manager (see Real Radio Yorkshire Expands Sales Operation).
