Real Radio has appointed Manchester-based advertising agency Clear Marketing Communications to create consumer led marketing campaigns for its group of stations.
The agency, which secured the contract following a competitive pitch, will devise a new television advertising campaign to promote the group’s stations in Yorkshire, Scotland and South Wales. The TV campaign will run in the autumn and will be supported by creative marketing for the individual stations.
Commenting on the deal, Real Radio Group’s managing director, Shaun Bowron, said: “The quality of the presentations was excellent, and the decision was tough but we felt that Clear Marketing demonstrated a good understanding of the Real brand as well as some exciting creative ideas.”
Clear Marketing Communications replaces Cranshaw Middleton which was responsible for creating launch campaigns for each of the stations over the last two years.
According to RAJAR data for the second quarter of 2002, Real Radio’s stations in Scotland and Wales saw their weekly reach increase by 26.3% and 12.7% respectively, when compared with the same period last year. Real Radio Yorkshire, which launched in March, reported an initial weekly reach of 348,000.
