ITV’s flagship drama premiere Rebecca failed to win the ratings battle on Sunday evening when more people watched a new series of the popular Ballykissangel on BBC1. Unofficial overnights show that 9.6 million people (36%) watched the dramatisation of Daphne DuMaurier’s novel while 12 million (43%) viewed Ballykissangel.
On Saturday however Sabrina The Teenage Witch (6.8m/33%) managed to outdo The Simpsons (6.5m/32%) and Blind Date (10.3m/38%) beat Noel’s House Party (8.3m/32%). A repeated It’ll Be Alright On The Night managed to attract an audience of 14.2 million which is a share of 57%.
