Reed Elsevier is buying Mead Data Central for $1.5bn. The Anglo-Dutch publishing house said that the purchase would be financed with the help of £1bn worth of new dollar borrowings. Chairman Pierre Vinken said, “The acquisition is a perfect fit for Reed Elsevier”.
