Reed Ceasing Membership Of PressAd
Reed Regional Newspapers have confirmed this morning that they are not going to renew their contract with PressAd, the commercial arm of the Newspaper Society.
Reed, whose contract with PressAd expires in September, said they have been assessing value for money in relation to PressAd and have decided they will take over the role themselves. However, Paul Davidson, deputy chief executive of Reed Regional Newspapers said that they will remain in JICREG.
Paul Davidson also made it clear that the decision to pull out has nothing to do with the current on-going sale of all Reed Regional titles; the decision was made a while ago, and until the sale process is completed, “it is business as usual”. Mr Davidson would not comment on any potential buyers for the Reed titles.
The Newspaper Society this morning refused to comment, denying any knowledge of Reed’s decision.
