Reed Confirms IPC Sell-Off
Reed Elsevier has just confirmed that it has put its IPC Magazines division up for sale. IPC publishes over 70 consumer titles, including Loaded , Womans Own and TV Times , and it had been rumoured for some time that Reed was looking to off-load the group so that it could concentrate on its professional scientific interests. This is borne out by the fact that it is retaining its New Scientist title.
A number of publishers have already been named as possible buyers of IPC, which would have an asking price of around £800m. These include Emap and Conde Nast.
