Reed Elsevier Results Up 12%

Anglo-Dutch publisher Reed Elsevier has released first half results showing a 12% rise in profits, from £297m to £332m. Finance director Nigel Stapleton said they were in a more optimistic mood about economic recovery, with the benefits showing particularly well in the UK. The company also said it is still looking at two big US publishing groups up for sale. Reed’s shares fell 6p this morning to 822p.
