Reed Profits Up 19% To £732m
Reed Elsevier has today announced results for 1995; pre-tax profits were up 19% year on year to £732m. Operating profit of £828m was 25% ahead of 1994.
Reed’s chairman, Ian Irvine, said that Reed’s divestment programme of their consumer publishing is now complete. (This included the sale of all Reed Regional titles). This sale has provided substantial resources; and they are intending to make further acquisitions in the Scientific, Professional and Business areas.
