Reed Regional Press is to use direct copy transmission facilities through BT’s ISDN lines. The system will be available by the end of May, and will give advertisers’ direct access to Reed’s regional papers. Reed is the first major regional publisher to offer this service.
NEW PRESIDENT FOR NEWSPAPER SOCIETY
Gerry Holbrook, managing director of Yorkshire Post Newspapers was yesterday elected the new President of the Newspaper Society. He takes over from Hew Stevenson, chief executive of Westminster Press.
ADSCENE BUYS FOUR COUNTIES
Adscene has bought Four Counties Newspapers for £5m; titles include the Worksop Trader News and the Gainsborough Trader News.
