The latest ABC regional newspaper results, covering the January – June 2016 period, reveal a general decline for the top end of the market.
Only the Champion was able to record any growth – but at just 0.06%, it was nothing to write home about. However, the title has healthy circulation of 164,300, making it the best selling by some distance.
The biggest hit during the period was taken by Express & Star (West Midlands), down almost -5%. With a circulation of almost 60,000 it is now the third best performing title, beaten by the London Magazine in second place with 73,000.
Elsewhere, the Aberdeen Press & Journal was down -3.8% and the Coventry Observer down -3.3%. The Solihull Observer was down -2.3%.
All other declines were very slight.
