Relaunch For Attic Futura’s Teen Celebrity Title

Relaunch For Attic Futura’s Teen Celebrity Title

Attic Futura’s tvhits! magazine is undergoing a relaunch and from 9 July will pitch itself as “Britain’s only celebrity teen lifestyle magazine”.

Lara Wilkins, the magazine’s publisher, commented: “We feel now is the right time to build on what we’ve achieved over the past 13 years. Not only will the relaunch give our readers more of what they want, it will also make tvhits! magazine unique within the teen sector.”

In the July-December ABC audit, tvhits took a 25.1% year on year fall in circulation, reflecting a fall across a teen sector in which the only relief came in the form of CosmoGirl, entering the market with a debut ABC figure of 170,000 (see NewsLine).

Editor Nick Chalmers promises that the magazine’s new approach will make the readers “feel like the stars are their friends.” This will be achieved by having them talk about tough times in their lives, sharing fashion and beauty tips and solving readers dilemmas on the problem page.

The first new look issue, incorporating a redesigned logo, goes on sale on 9 July and will be covermounted with a pair of flip-flops. Attic Futura also plans to go on the road conducting sampling exercises during the summer. The logo will appear on the tvhits! sponsored single of the week on MTV’s Video Clash and nationwide radio adverts for the magazine will run on the Pepsi Chart Show.
